    In the book Homeless bird Koly is thirteen and lives with her mom,dad and her two brothers they live in india  in a small house. Koly encounter's deception which means lying and she learns about it and she learns to use it to her advantage.
      When Sass lies to Koly about the widows pension  that the government gives widows. She lied because she wanted the money for her daughter (Whelan,p.71)
     When Koly finds out that sass lies to her about Hari's age she said that he was thirteen but he was really sixteen witch made Koly  set. (Whelan,p19)  Finally Koly lie to Sass about loosing her silver earrings and Sass screamed at her she was very mad at Koly (Whelan,P.70)

Bella has to deal with life or death situations, friends, and a love.

Two best friends since kindergarten, were more like sisters. Jordan and Kara are now sophomores. Both of the families are extremely close. Jordan is the head of the friendship, and a better friend. Jordan’s whole attitude changes. Kara feels betrayed, and abandoned. She had never had this done to her before. While Jordan is off with her new “popular” kids and totally ignoring Kara, she gets pushed out of the “popular club”. Kara feels that she has more power now but doesn’t know how to get Jordan back. I had a connection to just about every chapter in this book. I have many best friends in my life but there has been one that seems to have always been there for me. Last year we got in a big fight but we are now back great friends again. That is pretty much what happened in Dark Blue.
