Snuggle:  Snuggle arrived from Arlington, WA.

   Yesterday, a guest arrived in our school. His name is Snuggle and he's a geobear Snuggle arrived well equipped. He brought a little bag, his diary and a pencil to write down his adventures in Serbia, and some gifts (a pack of sweets for the children and a little cup). He must've come by boat, since we found a little boat in the package. He also brought  a postcard and some brocures about Seattle, Washington.

Snuggle was warmly welcomed by my students. Three girls, Ivana, Jovana and Ana, wanted Snuggle to monitor their work, which he accepted with pleasure.

 In the evening, Luka took Snuggle into his room. While Luka was doing his homework, Snuggle was doing his best to help him. Then they went to sleep. n the morning, Snuggle sat at the computer and sent his

first e-mail to the students back home, in Arlington.

On Saturday, 27^th October, we took Snuggle in a cottage near Kragujevac. It was raining all day and he was in, but here are some pictures to show you where he went. Most of the wooden things you see are not used any more but are a part of our culture. . Shoes are a part of our national costume. They are made of very soft leather. Beside it you can see a bag our peasants used to take when they were out. It was used for food (as you may guess). The cooker is still used in winter.

You can’t see Snuggle in these pictures since, as we’ve told, it was raining and it was very cold outside, but believe me he enjoyed by the fire of the cooker.

Yesterday, on Tuesday 6th November, a group of my students took Snuggle in a public school. Private schools in Serbia are mainly

specialised and are not compulsory, so all of my students attend a public primary school, which is compulsory.

Snuggle had a great time. He visited a fourth grade and a third grade

class, the music classroom, the art classroom, the computer classroom and many, many other things. He also was in the swimming pool! Want to see it for yourself? Visit our Image gallery :)

On Saturday, 17th November, Snuggle went to a trip to Ovcar Banja. It's a spa between two mountains, Ovcar and Kablar.The second largest river in Serbia, the Morava river, runs through the spa. The Ovcar- Kablar gorge is famous for it's monasteries. There are eleven monasteries there, mainly located on the mountains. If you visit our Image gallery, you will see one of the monasteries behind Snuggle's back. You can also see the map of the area, showing you where the monsteries are located. The yellow bridge is the brigde that connects the banks of the river as well as the two mountains. The bridge is very old and it swings when you go across it.

On 19th December, it was Saint Nikola's Day. St. Nikola is one of the most common celebrated SLAVAS in Serbia. How we celebrate a SLAVA can be read under the TRADITIONS section of the blog. Anyway, it was Snuggle's first SLAVA in Serbia.You can see some pictures in our Image gallery.
