This is a great article to

This is a great article to read with some wonderful ideas.  The problem I see, especially with my students, it that while the ideas might work in the author's classroom, they might not work in mine.  I'm not trying to be a pessimist.  I just forsee too many activities being marred by the inappropriate behavior of one or two individuals.  However, maybe I'll give one or two of them a try next year.  I especially like the thought of students making appointments with their peers.  I would add that students should make appointments with the teacher to discuss academics, progress, or anything else the student may wish to talk about.

A lot of what I read in this

A lot of what I read in this artical reminded me of a speaker I saw a few years back. Jim Grant is a very interesting and entertaining speaker. He spoke about differentiated instruction in the classroom.

I bought his book of strategies and keep it in my room. If anyone wants to look at it, just ask. It has the appointment clock, examples of instruction, and my favorite, ideas for left handers.
