We live in the state of
We live in the state of Iowa which is in the middle of the USA. The nearest mountains to the west of us are the Rocky Mountains. They are about 1000 kilometers away. The nearest mountains to the east of us are the Appalachians. That range is also about 1000 kilometers away. To the south of us are the Ozarks. They are not very big. The Ozarks are about 500 kilometers away.
