Who Am I

We're off to a great start, even though it's been only two days.  Today, we talked about our first project, called "Who Am I?"

Students are creating a "Who Am I?" page, which is a sheet of white paper that includes a name, a recent picture of the creator of the page and at least three facts about him or her.

This activity is a wonderful tool for getting to know kids and for them to get to know each other.  All "Who Am I" pages will be placed on our "Wall of Fame" in room 119.

[PINK TOPIC] Toni Cade Bambara

Toni Cade Bambara makes many readers want to keep readng. She tell about two boys who have a wall where they always play. Then a painter comes and startes painting on it making them mad. Then the boys try to find a way to get her away from the wall. Toni Bambara bilds saspence in the story by not telling us what the painter is painting.

I like that the OAT's are over with. I think though that we should be getting ready for the 8th grade OAT's. But what do I know. NOTHING.Laughing

Achievement tests are tough

I'm really glad today is the last day of the OATs.  These tests are really long and really hard.  It's not so much that I don't know how to answer the tests, but my mind starts to wonder, after awhile and it's tough to get back to focusing on the test.

After about an hour, I want to just put my head down and take a nap, but I know I have to keep going.  I think the length of the tests may have hurt my score, cuz I know near the end on all of them I wasn't as sharp as I was in the beginning.
